Permeable parking in urban area

Context : Management of run-off water from road and parking area, as part of a project to rehabilitate the car park area of the Bouilloux-Laffont stadium in Benodet (France, Brittany, 29).

Challenge : The aim is to create additional municipal parking facilities with a permeable paving combining green and mineral pavement surfaces, which fits in perfectly with the environment of a Brittany coastal city.Two structures based on infiltration at the source were chosen: grassed paving stones with thick joints for the parking spaces, as well as a swale to collect run-off water from the vehicles circulation lanes.The design of a permeable parking area allows the infiltration of run-off water while providing a green and sustainable solution by clearly and neatly delimiting each parking space.
